- Import by order from the USA. The website proposes to find and import a car from the USA tailored to the customer's needs.

Identification. ECOIMPORT, Importação Automóvel e Edificação Ecológica, Unipessoal Lda, NIF 518427250, headquartered in Alcantarilha.
Services. Importing vehicles for individuals and companies, including transport, registration, financing, and trade-ins. The website has a dedicated guide to importing from the USA.
Strengths. A Portuguese company is identified on the website. Legalization is part of the service. The website advertises a proposal within 24 hours.
Limits. It's a generalist site: it mainly talks about recent cars, especially from Germany. It doesn't publish its fees.
Recommended for. Buyers who want to import a car from the USA through a company based in Portugal.

2. Americars
Identification. Americars & Trucks has a team in Florida for vehicle selection and another in France for follow-up. The website is available in several languages, including Portuguese.
Services. Muscle cars, V8 pickups, and custom cars from before 1996, imported from the USA. The advertised service includes selection, shipping, customs clearance in Setúbal or Leixões, inspection, and registration.
Strengths. Specialist in American cars. Publishes indicative budgets: for example, 30,000 to 48,000 euros all-inclusive for a 1976 Chevrolet C10 in good condition. Shows two examples of imports with the final price.
Limits. There are no vehicles for sale on the website. The legal page does not indicate an address or company registration number. On Trustpilot, the address listed is in Tampa, USA.
Reviews. Trustpilot: 4.4 out of 5, with 84 reviews. None have been published in the last 12 months (accessed 10/18/2026).
Recommended for. Buyers who want a classic American car delivered with Portuguese license plates, without having to deal with anything else.

3. Nelson Capela
Identification. A dealership in Santo Tirso, present on Standvirtual since 2011, which presents itself as "Number 1 in American cars".
Offer. 57 ads as of October 18, 2026. In the sample we consulted, 14 out of 18 ads were from American brands. They are mostly recent and luxury models: Hummer, Cadillac, Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, Chevrolet Corvette Z06. There are also some classics, such as a 1968 Dodge Charger and a Ford F-100.
Strengths. The cars are in Portugal and can be viewed before purchase. Prices are published.
Limits. It does not offer an import-on-demand service. There are few classics from before 1980.
Recommended for. Buyers who want a recent American car or a luxury car that is already in Portugal.

4. Geevers Classic Cars
Identification. Classic car dealer in Asten, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 17069288.
Offer. According to the website, there are over 350 classic cars in stock, focusing on Mercedes-Benz, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Corvette models from the 1950s to the 1970s. Visits are by appointment only.
Strengths. Large inventory, with many Mustangs. Prices are published on many fact sheets.
Limits. The website doesn't mention delivery or registration in Portugal. Legalization in Portugal is the responsibility of the buyer.
Recommended for. Buyers who want to choose a Mustang or Corvette from among many others and who handle the registration themselves.

5. E&R Classics
Identification. Victory Classic Cars BV, which operates the E&R Classics brand, has a showroom in Waalwijk, Netherlands. It has a website in Portuguese.
Offer. More than 400 classic cars of all brands, according to the website. American cars are a small part: as of October 18, 2026, there were 3 Fords in stock.
Strengths. Great selection in one place, prices published and international door-to-door delivery.
Limits. The registration and inspection service indicated covers the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France, but not Portugal.
Recommended for. Buyers who are hesitating between a European classic and an American one, and want to see many cars at once.

If you've already bought the car: legalization
Some offices don't sell or import cars, but handle the paperwork for a car you've already bought. This is the case with GTA, Gabinete Técnico Automóvel, in Macedo de Cavaleiros. According to its website, it handles customs declarations, vehicle registration tax (ISV), individual homologation at the IMT (Institute for Mobility and Transport), and inspections, including for cars coming from the USA. The website itself indicates that GTA is neither an importer nor a sales intermediary.

Who we didn't include, and why.
- General importers from the European Union (Importrust, Easy Import, Important): the websites mention cars purchased in Europe, not the USA.
- Classifieds websites (Standvirtual, OLX, CustoJusto): They gather ads from third parties, they don't import cars.
- Meetings and clubs, such as Americancars Algarve, organize events, but they do not sell or import cars.

What to check before paying an importer
- Identity. Company name and registration number (NIF or equivalent), visible on the website or in the contract.
- What's included. Purchase, transport within the USA, sea freight, insurance, customs clearance, ISV, inspection, and registration. Request a written list.
- Registration. If it's not included, request a separate quote before proceeding.
- Car condition. Recent photographs, frame number (VIN), and, if possible, an inspection performed by a professional in the USA.
- Payment. Pay a company. Demand an invoice and a written contract that states what happens if the car is not as described.
Taxes: what changed in 2026
- Customs duties. Since 1 July 2026, cars manufactured in the USA pay 0 % customs duty (Regulation (EU) 2026/1455). In principle the measure applies until 31 December 2029 and may be changed without notice.
- Import VAT. 23 % on import, calculated on the value of the car and transport to the European Union.
- ISV. Calculated based on engine displacement in classic cars. These are indicative values: please confirm with the Portuguese Tax Authority (AT) before purchasing.
