The registration tax (engangsavgift), calculated by weight and CO2, is completely exempt for vehicles 20 years old or more \u2014 the recycling fee (vrakpantavgift) of 2,400 NOK remains.<\/p>\n<h2>Approval: Statens vegvesen<\/h2>\n<p>After customs clearance, the car is approved by the Statens Vegvesen. There is a specific regime for cars from the USA and Canada: vehicles registered abroad for at least 6 months, in their state of origin or nearby, with American compliance documents.<\/p>\n<h2>Veteran regime<\/h2>\n<p>At 30 years old, the car has veteran status.
